Last minute details

Three days till we swing the gates open at Woodland West for this year's Western Canadian Permaculture Convergence.

If you are looking for the basic information about the weekend, please check the last blog.
Today, We are sharing all the last minute tidbits and stuff we forgot in the last letter.
Also a treat for those of you who couldn't make the round wood timber framing and reciprocal roof workshop, a short slide show of the building process.
First down to business:
Please! No dogs on site.  For so many reasons, we are asking for your cooperation with this. McNaughton's livestock is free rooming and they also have old dogs.
Many of you may have noticed that we are expecting a brief break from the heat. Looks like we might see a few showers on Friday and cooler and cloudy on Saturday. We encourage you to come prepared for at least three seasons' weather. Don't despair, they're will be lots of warm places to go and shelters. Great bonfires also.
Because we are a bear safe event, all coolers will be kept up at the kitchen/classroom.
When you arrive at the gate please have your kitchen food and gear separate from camping gear. There will be couriers there to help you with both.
We expect there to be a flurry of registrants arriving just before and at suppertime. Please be patient with the couriers and remember that there is always enough time.
If you can swing it, plan to come earlier on Friday afternoon and leisurely set up camp. There will always be someone around to give you a hand.
If you have tarps and rope bring them. The camping area has lots of trees if you would like to construct a shelter from the weather by your tent.
As campers are you responsible for Saturday and Sunday breakfast. There will be two grills on and coffee and tea provided.
You might want to consider easy breakfast selections like granola etc....
It may be dark when you return to your campsite, so bring flashlights, headlamps or lanterns to return to the campsite. There will be solar markers along the way.
The registration area will open at 1pm on Friday. Couriers will be ready to transport to the campsite at 2pm. Trailers can converge in the field any time after 2pm.
On your way to the site please watch for the signs. The road will be well marked to get you here.
You can feel the excitement building on the site, many of the volunteers are heading out in the next couple of days to get everything in place.
I look forward to meeting everyone and sharing a terrific weekend.
Here is a short slide show to get you excited also.
