Convergence information package and map

The Convergence site is coming together!
Seven days till we all meet at Woodland West.
The folks at Woodland West have been busy putting together an amazing site for this year's convergence. It will be a model for low impact events. There will be a tour of the site on Friday before dinner if you are interested in the inner workings of Woodland West.

Here are some details that will help to make your weekend planning/ packing easier.

First, those who are bringing children: If your children are planning on swimming in the pond, consider appropriate floatation devices and supervision.
Note:
Due to the large number of attendees, Friday night dinner will be potluck. Please bring your contribution ready to be served. Crock pots and roasters welcome. There is an oven to heat things up.
If you are bringing surplus veggies to contribute, please let us know so we can thank you personally.
Dinner at 6:30 pm
All camping is wilderness camping. What you bring in you take out, garbage and empty bottles included. Alcohol is permitted. Please behave yourselves!
Please remember that you will be in Kananaskis country. It can be quite cool at night and in the morning and very hot during the day. We will also be adhering to bear safe measures. (No food in your tents!)
RV/ trailer camping will be near the gate to minimize disruption to the pasture. There will be no hook ups.
At this point there are no fire bans. Fires are only in designated fire pits.
All food activity will happen up at the main site area. There is a kitchen and large indoor area for food storage and prep.
All folks are responsible for their own breakfast on both days. There will be grills available for cooking.
This is a low impact event. Please bring your own dishes. There will be a communal dish washing area available at all times.
Recommended dishes to bring:
Plate
Utensils
Soup bowl
Cloth napkins
Dish clothes for drying dishes.
A cloth shopping bag or basket to store dishes in.

Personal hygiene
There will be a rocket mass heater shower house available. The pond and creek are both great ways to freshen up.
There will be water and a laundry sink at the camping area by the shower for hand washing and tooth brushing. Please use only earth friendly bio-degradable products.

Camping
There are 3 options for camping.
RV/trailer
Social camping
Quiet camping

When you arrive at Woodland West you will be greeted and registered. Once your type of camping has been determined you will directed to parking. Tenters will be loaded onto gators and shuttled into the camping area. Because of the wild nature of the site cars are not permitted in the camping area.
